TAL announces the introduction of new air ticket
surcharges.
From September 3, the price of all international air tickets
for
passengers departing the Kingdom of Tonga will increase by $30 to
include a new $10 Security Fee and a $20 Airport Development Fee. This
is in addition to the $25 Passenger Service Charge collected from
travellers departing Tonga.
An additional $2 security fee will apply to all passengers departing on
domestic flights.
Such fees are commonplace in most countries, and are required to bring
the airports of Tonga up to continually more stringent international
standards. The fees will be used to upgrade the airport infrastructure
for your safety, security and comfort.
While this is a TAL initiative, our airline partners will collect the
new charges for us. We therefore ask for your understanding on their
behalf.
